Taous est d’origine Algérienne et Américaine. Elle est formée en théâtre à
l'Ecole Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq à Paris. Elle est licenciée en
Théâtre et Français de Macalester College à St. Paul, MN. Elle est comédienne,
metteur en scène et animatrice du théâtre pour jeunes. Au Minnesota elle
a travaillé avec SteppingStone Theatre, Stages Theatre Company, Frank Theatre, Off
Leash Area Performance Works et Dreamland Arts. Elle a joué son
one-woman-show Tizi Ouzou à St. Paul, Portland, Seattle (USA), en Alexandrie
(Egypte) et à Oran (Algérie). Pendant l'été 2008 elle a dirigé « Le Projet
Théâtral des Contes Kabyles » en collaboration avec le Théâtre Régional
de Béjaïa en Algérie et L’Association Culturelle Amazigh en Amérique. En Algérie, Taous a animé des stages au
Centre Culturel Français d’Oran, au Théâtre Régionale de Béjaïa et aux Jardin d’Enfants
de Sonatrach. En 2009 le journal Minnpost de Minneapolis l'a mentioné comme meilleure performance de 2009 pour "Le Palais de la Fin" de Frank Theatre. Elle a joué dans "La Fenetre" une production du Theatre Regional d'Oran pendant la saison 2010. Actuellement elle anime une formation pour femmes au Theatre Regional d'Oran.
Taous is Algerian
and American. She trained at the Jacques Lecoq International Theatre School in
Paris. She holds a BA in theatre and French from Macalester College in St.
Paul, MN. She is an actor, director and teaching artist. In Minnesota she has
worked with SteppingStone Theatre, Stages Theatre Company, Frank Theatre, Off
Leash Area Performance Works, and Dreamland Arts. She has performed her
one-woman-show Tizi Ouzou in St. Paul, Portland, Seattle (USA), in Alexandria (Egypt) and in Oran
(Algeria). During the summer of 2008 she directed the Kabyle Folktale Project
in collaboration with the Regional Theatre of Bejaia and the Amazigh Cultural
Association in America. In Algeria she has taught theatre workshops for the
French Cultural Center of Oran, the Regional Theatre of Bejaia and the
Sonatrach Corporation preschool. In 2009 Minnpost mentioned her as the best performance of 2009 for her work in Frank Theatre's "Palace of the End." During the 2010 season she performed in "The Window" a production of the Regional Theatre of Oran. Currently she teaches a training course for women at the Regional Theatre of Oran.
